Ian Samuels
Founder & Managing Partner
Ian is an experienced investor and operator whose 20-year career has spanned energy and climate finance, policy, business incubation, and investment across a range of asset classes. Before founding New System Ventures, Ian was a founding member of Nyca Partners and Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (Alphabet’s smart city initiative, combining venture, incubation, and project finance), where he supported the incubation of Cavnue and Verrus. Ian led private equity and credit investments in financial and industrial sectors at Centerbridge Partners, and began his career at Blackstone. He worked on financial crisis response, capital markets, and climate finance at the U.S. Treasury Department.
